Casting Call for Daniel & Kevin

A short comedy (approx 8 min) about Gwendoline and Linda—two menopausal office veterans who’ve spent years side by side as secretaries, navigating deadlines, office gossip, and each other’s moods. They share their corridor with Sheila at reception and Daniel and Kevin from accounting, where nothing ever really changes...
It’s a quiet Friday afternoon. Their boss, the ever- charming Mr. Graig, is out at a meeting. Then something goes wrong—turning an ordinary end-of-week lull into a pressure cooker of stress, panic, and unravelling nerves.
As tensions rise and time runs out, one question hangs in the air:
What happens when Mr. Graig walks back through the door?

DANIEL (6 lines) Male, 35–40 | Any ethnicity
Plain, and slightly forgettable office type. Neatly dressed but no strong sense of style. Movements are a bit stiff and awkward. Has worked at the company since university and built his identity around the job. Socially out of sync but well- meaning. Tries to be funny and charming—especially around Sheila—but his jokes are overthought and don’t land. Tends to over-explain, particularly with numbers, believing it makes him impressive. For this role, good comic timing is required.

KEVIN (2 lines) Male, 50–55 | Any ethnicity
A bit dishevelled—crooked tie, worn jacket. Breathes a bit heavily, especially when moving or talking too much. Tries to appear more put- together when needed. He takes his job seriously and sees himself as a dependable, experienced figure in the office. In his own mind, he’s something like Mr. Craig’s right-hand man, even if that’s not entirely reflected in real life. Speaks with authority even when it’s not required. Mildly competitive with Daniel, especially around Sheila.

We welcome actors of all ethnicities and sizes, and are open to a range of accents for both roles. However, please ensure you meet the stated age range when applying. We’re looking for actors with strong facial expressions, as Daniel and Kevin feature in most scenes.

Periode
Applicants must be available for filming on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of January 2027 in Noordwijk. We will also be planning a rehearsal in November or December, which will take place on a weekend day in Noordwijk. The exact date will be decided together with the selected actors.
