That Is Dry – Online Sketch Comedy

The project is a new online sketch comedy concept currently in development. We are looking for experienced, versatile and expressive actors who can fully embody a character, deliver convincing performances and bring unique personalities to the screen.

The project focuses on short-form comedy sketches, primarily in English, created for YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. Most sketches will be around one minute long. Longer concepts may be released in multiple parts to keep audiences engaged.

We aim to produce high-quality content with professional cameras, lighting, sound and a strong focus on acting, storytelling, timing and comedic delivery. Our goal is to create original, memorable and sometimes unpredictable comedy that stands out on social media.

We are primarily looking for English-speaking actors, particularly those with authentic American or British accents. However, we also welcome actors with strong Dutch accents when speaking English, as well as a wide range of other accents, backgrounds and comedic styles. We believe that individuality, diversity and distinctive personalities can make comedy even more effective.

We are looking for actors who are confident in their craft, willing to take creative risks and capable of bringing characters to life. Improvisation, strong comedic instincts and the ability to commit fully to a role are highly valued.

This is an opportunity to become involved in a new creative project from the beginning, collaborate with other talented performers and help develop an original comedy concept with room to grow.

About Me and the Vision

I’m a Dutch actress with years of experience working in television, film and commercials. Alongside acting, I create online content and run my own YouTube channel, where I explore comedy and digital entertainment.

With this project, I want to build something bigger: an original sketch comedy platform with its own identity, style and recurring characters. The initial focus is on short, entertaining sketches for YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, with the ambition to expand into larger and more ambitious productions over time.

The project is currently in its early stages, which makes this an opportunity to help shape something from the ground up. I’m looking for more than actors who simply want to perform a role. I’m interested in working with creative, dedicated people who are excited by the idea of building something together, experimenting with characters, contributing ideas and developing a strong creative team.

With the right people, consistency, professionalism and a shared commitment to creating great content, I believe this concept has the potential to grow into something much bigger.

What We Offer

Although this project is currently unpaid and in its early development stage, we want to create a valuable creative experience for everyone involved. We’re building something from the ground up, with the ambition to grow into a larger platform for original online comedy.

Important: Compensation & Travel Expenses!

Please note that this is currently an unpaid project. We are not yet generating revenue, and therefore cannot offer financial compensation, travel reimbursement or any other payment at this stage. Travel expenses will need to be covered by the actors themselves.

We want to be completely transparent about this from the beginning. For this reason, we ideally welcome actors based in the Randstad region of the Netherlands, making it easier and more practical for everyone to participate.

If the project begins generating revenue in the future, for example through social media or other opportunities, we will communicate any relevant developments and potential changes to the team. However, there is no guarantee of future payment, and participation should be based on the opportunities and conditions outlined above.

Our goal is to build something creative, ambitious and enjoyable together, with the potential to grow beyond its initial stages. We’d love to work with people who share that vision and want to be part of the journey from the beginning.

What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for experienced, versatile and fearless actors who are ready to bring unique characters to life and help build something new from the ground up.

Acting experience is a must. This can come from professional acting education, theatre, film, television, commercials or other relevant on-camera experience. We’re looking for people who understand their craft, can fully commit to a role and deliver convincing performances.

What matters most to us:

1. Fluent in English: English is a must, as most sketches will be in English. Speaking Dutch is a plus, especially for sketches that combine both languages.

2. Strong comedic timing: You understand rhythm, delivery, reactions and what makes a scene funny. You can play comedy naturally and effectively.

3. Confidence and fearlessness: You’re not afraid to go all in, make bold choices, look ridiculous or fully commit to an unusual character. You dare to take risks and aren’t easily embarrassed.

4. Professionalism on set: Some sketches will be filmed on location, where time may be limited. You can think on your feet, take direction, adapt quickly and deliver when it counts.

5. Reliability and punctuality: Being on time is essential. We expect actors to show up as agreed, arrive prepared, learn their lines and respect everyone’s time. If you commit to a shoot, we need to be able to count on you.

6. Versatility: You can play different types of characters, experiment with personalities and accents, and step outside your comfort zone.

7. Creativity and initiative: You’re willing to contribute ideas, experiment with characters and help make a sketch even funnier. Improvisation skills are a big plus.

8. A collaborative mindset: You’re open to developing a new concept together, giving and receiving feedback, and helping shape the creative direction of the project.

9. Location and availability:
Ideally, you live in the Randstad area of the Netherlands, as filming will primarily take place in this region. However, actors from elsewhere are welcome to apply if they are genuinely willing and able to travel to filming locations when needed.

10. You have to be 18+

Please note that the project is currently in its early development stage and has a limited budget. At this time, we cannot offer travel reimbursement or financial compensation for acting work. We want to be transparent about this from the outset so you can make an informed decision before applying.

Who can apply?

Everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, ethnicity, nationality or age (18+). We’re interested in your personality, talent, originality and what you bring to a character, rather than fitting a particular stereotype.

We’re building this project from the ground up, so we’re looking for people who are excited about the creative process, willing to grow with the project and motivated to be part of something with long-term potential.

Period & Schedule

The first round of online auditions will take place in early to mid-November 2026. Depending on the number of applications and the selection process, a second round of auditions may follow, after which selected actors will be invited to a Zoom meeting to discuss the project in more detail.

Filming is expected to begin in late November or December 2026. From that point onwards, we aim to continue producing new comedy sketches on an ongoing basis, with several filming days planned throughout each month.

For this initial round, we’re looking to build a group of recurring guest actors who can participate in different sketches over time. The frequency of filming and the roles available may vary depending on the concepts being developed.

Exact filming dates, locations, scheduling, and further details about the production process will be communicated to the selected actors. These arrangements will be coordinated in advance, taking everyone’s availability into account.

This is an ongoing creative project, so we may also put out additional casting calls in the future as the concept expands and new roles become available.
