At Kikid, we create interactive theatre performances that help young people stand stronger in life. We use theatre as a means to open up important themes such as mental health, peer pressure, social media, and sexuality.

We perform throughout the country (starting point: Amsterdam Sloterdijk) at primary schools (group 7/8) and secondary schools (all levels and years). During the performance
we act out scenes, after which we immediately engage in discussion with the class in smaller groups.

What we offer
What do we offer you?
We work in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Social Work:

Starting salary: €14.99 gross per hour (excl. 8% holiday allowance)
Start: zero-hours contract (in year 2, an hourly contract is possible, if desired)
Pension accrual, where we pay 50% of the premium
13th month and training budget (together approximately 10% extra on top of your salary)
An annual salary increase of 3.5% in years 2 and 3.
Lunch is provided every workday.
€10 per month contribution to health insurance reimbursement
Full reimbursement of public transport travel expenses to and from Amsterdam Sloterdijk, including travel to rehearsals.
Your working time runs from departure at Amsterdam Sloterdijk until return there.
Full payment for hours spent on training, rehearsals, peer supervision, and education
Monthly paid inspiration session or team day focused on development and team building
In addition, we invest heavily in your development through rehearsals, training, education, and peer supervision.

Description
What does a youth expert do?
As a youth expert (17 - 26 years old), you literally stand in front of the class and engage in conversation with young people based on your own experiences. You participate in our performances and facilitate post-show discussions on various themes.

Your role is multifaceted and meaningful:

You stand in front of groups of young people and perform in interactive scenes.
You facilitate discussions with classes after the performance.
You use your own story as a means to connect.
You contribute to a safe and open atmosphere in the group.

You will learn, among other things:

How to stand firmly and confidently in front of a group
How to effectively use your own story
How to make real contact with young people
How to be a role model in practice

We are organizing an audition for this position:

Current availability is a requirement to participate in the audition.

Summer rehearsal weeks (paid)
In addition, availability is required for our summer rehearsals:

July 27 to August 21
10:00 – 15:00
Haarlem

During these weeks, you rehearse for pay, and together we prepare the performances for the new season.

Furthermore, we expect you to be available for at least 2 days per week for the entire school year (26/27). We are looking most urgently for male players for Mondays and Wednesdays.
