We often remember a relationship by how it ended. That is why we rarely look back kindly on our ex(es). We then write the person who played the leading role alongside us for a long time out of our story as quickly as possible, in a single stroke.
Yet, a love story with a sad ending is not the same as a bad story. Psychology calls this narrative identity: we don't just tell stories about ourselves, we *are* the stories we tell. And we have more control over how that story sounds than we suspect.
Samenvallen follows two ex-couples who each reconstruct their shared history, first separately, then together. What begins as two separate stories gradually turns out to be one story that they unknowingly wrote together all along.
For the pilot, we are looking for two ex-lovers who want to revisit their shared story together, on camera. No interview, no therapy: a guided conversation of about an hour and a half, based on questions presented to you on a screen.
You decide yourselves how the images are used: only internally or also for publication. We record this choice in writing in advance, and it is revocable until publication.

What we offer
Participation in an innovative project.
The footage is being professionally shot by an experienced DP with an artistic, experimental approach. The shoot is for a pilot; the actors retain full image rights and may use the material for their portfolios.
It is a well-thought-out film experiment from which you might even derive personal value. The conversation surrounding the relationship is approached very respectfully, and safety is ensured.

Description
Actors who have had a relationship with another actor and wish to fulfill the role of both social and actual actor in a hybrid documentary by telling the story of their previous relationship in an on-camera interview and subsequently reenacting it.

Period
September 2026. The documentary portion requires approximately 2 hours of interviews. The fiction portion (on a different day) approximately 3 hours. Including preliminary discussions and briefings, approximately one day of expected commitment.
