My short fictional documentary The Call of the Gnomes (about 10-15 minutes) falls within the genre of the mockumentary, in which an imaginative subject is presented in a very realistic way. The story has the style and design of a real documentary, but tells a fictional story about gnome hunters. By choosing this genre, I want to make the story credible and give the viewer the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in a world that may seem fantasy at first glance, but still feels real and recognizable.
In the film, the boundaries between myth and reality are blurred. By using archive footage, interviews and classic documentary techniques, I want to show that the profession of gnome hunter was once respected, while in the modern world there is little understanding for old traditions.

Actor (40-50) Leader: The Leader is stoic and loyal to the legacy of the goblin hunters, which he carries on with reverence and determination. His calm and principled nature make him an excellent and inspiring leader. (lead role)

Actor (60+) Veteran: The Veteran is the oldest and most conservative member of the group, firmly bound to tradition and old customs. With his gruff appearance and aversion to innovation, he keeps a strict watch over the values of the past.

Actor (20-30) Apprentice: The Apprentice is an ignorant newcomer, clumsy but eager to learn, and determined to prove himself. He looks up to the Leader greatly and often acts like a suck-up in an attempt to impress.

Actress (30-40) Painter: The Painter is a gentle and creative woman with a warm heart and a great talent for finding solutions. She loves harmony and does everything she can to avoid conflict, while her artistic eye enriches the world around her.

Actor (40-50) Historian: The Historian is an omniscient and smart type with an impressive knowledge of the history of the gnome hunters. Although he often stays in the background, he is a quiet force who shares his insights at exactly the right moment.
