In Best Days, a tragicomic story full of humor, nostalgia, and raw emotions, we follow the life of Jimi, a basement-class footballer whose world is turned upside down after the end of a five-year relationship. While his teammates from VV D'n Meierij 1 try to cheer him up with booze, lame jokes, and a well-intentioned but dubious stunt, Jimi struggles with deep inner turmoil.

In the nostalgic setting of an old, warm canteen and on the cold-stricken training field, Jimi is torn between the friendship of his teammates and his growing passion for music. A grandiose, if unfair, victory seems to take away all his worries for a moment. But beneath the superficial joy, a sense of isolation is brewing, which only becomes stronger after a night of bad choices.

When Jimi finally throws himself into his music, he discovers that the bond with his teammates runs deeper than he thought. The story reaches its emotional climax during a confrontation that combines camaraderie, disappointment, and unconditional support. But Jimi's struggle with himself takes a fateful turn, and the question remains: were these really his best days?

Best Days is a film that explores the bittersweet reality of friendship, ambition, and self-discovery. It shows how the most beautiful moments often come alongside the most painful, and how humor and tragedy go hand in hand in everyday life.

For BEST DAYS we are still looking for the role of the main character:

Thomas “Jimi” Mulder (21-26)
A charismatic, musical member of a close-knit amateur football team in a small village in Brabant. His teammates call him 'Jimi' because of his love for the electric guitar and as a tribute to guitarist Jimi Hendrix. Despite his social role within the group, Jimi carries a deep inner turmoil. As a young cynic, he struggles with the feeling of being stuck in a bourgeois, predictable existence.
Jimi sees his life as dull and superficial, even when others convince him that he is living the "best days of his life." He seeks refuge in late drinking, impulsive choices, and superficial relationships, but finds only temporary escape. Beneath this facade lies a sense of loneliness and frustration, fueled by unresolved emotions from his past.

Gender: Male
Personality: Sensitive, creative, cynical but endearing. He balances between the life of the group and his own inner struggle.
Physical: Caucasian young man.
Background: A young man who longs deep inside for meaning and understanding, but has difficulty opening up to the people around him.

Skills:
Actor must be comfortable playing emotional depth and subtle inner conflicts.
Experience with playing guitar is a strong plus, but not required.
Must be able to empathize with a tragicomic setting, in which humor and emotion alternate.
