Cadenza is an intimate and moving drama about young pianist Eva, who struggles with her perfectionism and need to control everything. Her obsession with perfection drives a wedge between herself, her music, and the people she loves. Through a series of confrontations, both with others and with herself, Eva discovers that embracing imperfection can be the key to true freedom.

We make Cadenza because we want to show how perfectionism and the urge for control can suffocate life, and how letting go is sometimes the greatest victory. It is a story about vulnerability, self-acceptance and the search for freedom in a world that often demands inhuman perfection. With this film we not only want to paint an intimate and recognizable portrait, but also open a conversation about the impact of mental health and the power of imperfection. For this film we are collaborating with the Angst, Dwang en Fobie Stichting.

Actress for main character Eva: Mid-20s. Eva is a perfectionist and talented pianist who struggles with an all-consuming OCD. Piano playing is a plus, but not a requirement (must be able to imitate movements at least).

Actor for Lucas; Eva's boyfriend: mid-20s. Lucas is a warm, empathetic person with a down-to-earth appearance.

Actress for therapist. 35+. A quiet, thoughtful woman with a sharp, analytical eye. She has a lot of experience and knows how to use silence to get a reaction.
