'His Secret Became Content' is a gripping fiction short film about the impact of social media, forced coming out and faith. The 19-year-old Christian Sevjon comes from a Christian community, struggles in silence with his orientation [increasingly looks at photos of other men on social media in his spare time]. He decides to start dating and creates a profile on Grindr. When he makes a connection with his date Lucas, he feels a click and can finally be himself. But after a nice date his world changes. Someone has recognized him and posted photos of the date online, telling him that he is into men.
As the news spreads, Sevjon is confronted with a flood of online reactions, from condemnation within his community to support from unexpected quarters. He must now deal not only with the sudden loss of control over his own story, but also with the conflict between his faith and family.
His parents text him that they have also received the news and the mere idea that his parents know makes him think of suicide, using drugs... whether he will actually do that remains a question, the ending remains open.
