A writer tells in his book about photographer Jonathan, who meets Madelijn during his walk to work. When he decides to take his chance he finds out that Madelijn is unfortunately already taken, he does everything to win her heart.

On one of the walks, Madelijn tells him that her relationship has ended, he offers her a listening ear after which Madelijn slowly falls in love with Jonathan.

The two become the perfect couple in their own eyes, Jonathan constantly makes sure that everything is to Madelijn's liking. After a year they move in together, here Jonathan's effort weakens. He starts working at a newspaper and the two start living next to each other. Madelijn secretly meets an old acquaintance, when Jonathan confronts her about this but does not realize that this is all due to his negligence, Madelijn decides to leave Jonathan and move in with Michel, the new flame.

Jonathan realizes that their relationship was built on his desire to get together with Madelijn, he does everything again to win Madelijn back. When she realizes this, she breaks off all contact and they even move to the countryside.

Jonathan is forced to get over it. He moves into a new house and starts a new job. Once he has everything in order, he meets a new lady. This time he knows exactly what to do.

Throughout the film, the scenes are directed by the writer who is physically present as a third person.

We are looking for 3 actors;

Jonathan (18 - 25 years):
Jonathan is a photographer who likes to connect, but often gets in his own way. He tries to keep control over his relationships and sees his partners as perfect, without really looking at them. His charm and dedication make him attractive, but his mistakes cause things to go wrong. Still, he hopes for true love, even if he searches for it in the wrong way.

Madelijn (18-25 years):
Madelijn is a strong and independent woman with her own dreams. Jonathan sees her mainly as he wants to see her: first as perfect and later as the culprit of his problems. She remains a bit superficial in his story, because he does not really understand her. In the end, Madelijn chooses herself and leaves Jonathan behind, despite his attempts to keep her with him.

Writer (25 - 35 years):
The writer is a detached narrator who presents the story in an objective way. He does not judge the events or the characters, but describes everything as it is, without showing personal feelings or opinions. His neutrality allows the reader to draw his own conclusions, while the writer keeps himself out of the events.
