Jim has been watching TV since losing his job and his girlfriend. Throughout the film he tries to break his TV addiction and get his life back on track.

Elly is Jim's ex and has left him (partly due to his TV addiction). The TV uses a recreation of her as a doll to manipulate Jim.

Donald is one of the last friends Jim has left. He tries to help Jim out of the pit.
