I'm a director and producer based in Amsterdam, working across film, performance, and visual media. My background is in art and writing, but I approach filmmaking as a way to explore emotional tension, power dynamics, and the things we don't say out loud. I care about precision, presence, and creating work that feels both intimate and unsettling.
"Negative Space" is a short independent student film directed by Jihwan Kim & Liepa Pagareckaitė with a budget under €2,000. The film explores the fragile boundary between trauma and healing, revealing how absence can be as powerful as presence. Through an intimate portrayal of two artists confronting their wounds, the film excavates unspoken narratives that exist in the margins of human experience.

Description
We're casting for three main roles:

CAS (Male, 30-40): A talented but self-destructive artist with addiction issues
SASHA (Female, 28-38): A fashion designer with a complex past
JOHNATHON (Male, 35-45): A calculating gallery owner with hidden vulnerabilities

Additional supporting roles include BRIANNE, a former dancer.
We're looking for actors who are open, self-aware, and unafraid to work with subtlety and depth. The material deals with themes of suicide, addiction, and complex relationships, requiring emotional maturity and nuanced performances.
