For my end-of-year film at the HKU, I am looking for two male actors for the lead roles in a short film. We will be shooting in the Utrecht region in the near future. It is a challenging project in which you can fully immerse yourself in another world, a great opportunity to further develop yourself as an actor.

Logline:
When a religious boy finds a large flesh wound on his arm, he must choose between old-fashioned church ways and modern science.


The Heaven Stormer will be an abstract film about religion and power relations. With white walls, black shadows and grey faces we sketch a German expressionist portrait of a world in which there is no middle way. The visual style is oppressive: static close-ups force the viewer to fathom the characters. In experimental interludes we investigate the soul of the main character, filmed as if the camera is physically coming in and out of the mouth. Through long takes, deliberate editing and alienating sound design an unreal world is created, which is as uncomfortable as it is intriguing.

We are looking for two male actors between the ages of 18 and 25 who are enthusiastic about acting, want to think about the film and their characters, and want to be actively involved in a creative process! Acting experience is not required.
