Norman is a psychologically character driven short film exploring the tension between the desire of belonging and the isolating nature of a personal pride. The story follows Norman, a 21 year old social outcast who longs for human connection but finds himself retreating into a fantasy of self importance and delusion. As the film unfolds, we watch his inner world begin to take over, blurring the line between what’s real and what he wishes was true.

Visually, Norman is designed to reflect his emotional journey. Each of the films six scenes represents a state of his mind, as it moves from a lively warm atmospheric bar to the growing chaos of his room.

Description
Norman (Male, 18–25)
A quiet, introspective university student. Norman is socially withdrawn and lives with an internal struggle between wanting connection and preserving his pride. His performance requires a strong non-verbal range—expressive eyes, controlled physicality, and subtle emotional shifts.
Appearance: Neutral to slightly alternative look, comfortable with makeup (eye bags, sweat effects, etc.)
Scenes: Bar, bedroom (various states), bus station, park

Bar Girl (Female, 18–25)
A warm, approachable presence who sits next to Norman at the bar. This character may exist more in Norman’s mind than in reality.
Appearance: Soft, effortless style, skirt, tank top, boots
Scenes: Bar, reappears in later fantasy scenes ( park)

Bus Girl (Female, 18–25)
A grounded, everyday young woman. She represents another fleeting chance at connection for Norman, more ambiguous and subtle than the bar girl.
Appearance: Casual style, low-rise jeans, converse, long-sleeve top
Scenes: Bus station (single moment of interaction), reappears in later fantasy scenes (park)
