For a school project, I’m creating a short film based on scenes from the series Trailer Park Boys. I’ve chosen a storyline where one of the main characters refuses to go to the hospital unless he has his hand puppet, Conky, with him. (The scenes are from Season 4, Episode 5 — from 3:16–4:10 and 4:55–8:38.

This short film will be a reimagined version of those scenes, adapted into a standalone story. The goal is to keep the vibe and humor of the original, while turning it into something that makes sense on its own—even for people who haven’t seen the show. It’s going to focus heavily on strong character performances and simple, effective storytelling.

Characters:

Bubbles (Lead, also voices Conky)
Injured but refusing to go to the hospital without his puppet. Sweet-natured, emotional, and eccentric, with a childlike sense of naivety. For this role, you must play both Bubbles (high-pitched, nervous, kind) and Conky—a sarcastic, controlling puppet with a different voice and attitude.

Ricky (Supporting)
Blunt, loud, and not great with subtlety. Ricky wants to help Bubbles but has no patience for his and Conky's antics. He’s hot-headed, and his ridiculous logic somehow (sometimes) makes sense. Needs strong comedic instincts and improvisational feel.

Julian (Supporting)
Julian’s laid-back but always two seconds away from losing it. He’s the one trying to hold everyone together while dealing with Conky, Ricky, and a very uncooperative Bubbles. Must play it straight with indirect humor and cool confidence.
