CASTING CALL: Young Mikah & His Friend
YOUNG MIKAH (Male, 12-16 years old)
Character Overview: Young Mikah is the childhood version of Detective Mika Abner. This is THE moment that changes his entire life, a single choice at a playground that haunts him forever. He's a good kid, the responsible type who always tries to do the right thing. But sometimes trying to be the hero costs you everything.
The Scene: Mikah is at the playground with his 8-year-old sister Fenna. His friend tells him that his crush Angela is just over there and that they should go and see her. After this fact Fenna, his younger sister gets kidnapped, we also have a moment at the house where his mother tell him to watch over his sister.

Depending on your acting you might be invited to go in other scenes aswell.


What We're Looking For:
Physical: Brown hair, green/blue eyes, average build, needs to look like someone who takes things seriously
Age Range: 12-16 (we need you to look this age, actual age can be older)
Acting Skills: You need to show a kid who thinks he's doing the right thing

Key Emotional Beats:
Start: Confident, responsible, trying to be mature
Middle: Focused on "doing the right thing"

What This Role Needs:
Someone who can show guilt without overacting it
Ability to go from normal kid to life-changing trauma in one scene
Comfortable with heavy emotional material
Natural, not trying too hard


MIKAH'S FRIEND (Male, 12-16 years old)
Character Overview: You're just a regular kid hanging out with your friend Mikah at the playground. This is a smaller role but you're part of a crucial moment in the story.

What We're Looking For
Physical: Any ethnicity, any build
Age Range: 12-16 (we need you to look this age, actual age can be older)

ABOUT THE PROJECT
This is a proof of concept short film for "Al Millennium: Day Zero", a sci-fi thriller about manipulation, guilt, and the weight of regret. We're creating something powerful for film festivals and to get funding for the feature film.
The playground scene is short but it's the foundation of the entire story. It's why Detective Abner becomes who he is. It's the moment that breaks him.

Shooting Details:
When: Weekend shooting, likely October 26th (but we'll work with your schedule to find the best date)
Where: Zutphen
Scene Length: Short but emotionally significant
What to Expect: One shooting day for 2 hours, possible brief rehearsal beforehand

Special Requirements:

Comfortable with emotional material (guilt, loss, childhood trauma themes)
Parents/guardians must be involved for minors
Able to commit to the shooting weekend

What do we offer?
This project is a proof of concept where we want to be able to be able to get funding for the feature film(which will be ofcourse paid) but also create a quality short for film festivals. Your (travel)costs will be paid for and this will be an opportunity to be part of a bigger film universe.
