When Lino doesn't speak out against her mother's negative feelings about herself, her body slowly swells. When she finally transforms into a pouf, she is forced to confront this conflict with her mother.

LAVA is a 5-minute short experimental fiction film.

What do we offer?
Lava will be an abstract fiction film with room for development for actresses.
We can offer travel expenses of €0.23 per km.
We also have a very open and friendly crew who are eager to bring this wonderful project to life. We're students at HKU University of the Arts Utrecht and want to use this project for our portfolio and possibly film festivals.

Lino is a young woman just learning to find her voice. Her relationship with her mother is strained, and throughout the film, she discovers how to rebuild it.
The film also shows the nagging reality of the impact a mother's self-image can have on her daughter.

This character has a romantic relationship with a woman, there are no intimate scenes in the film about this.
