"Dance Without Shadow" is a 20-minute psychological drama film. It follows Sophia, a twenty-year-old dance student who finds herself increasingly alienated from the world around her. As the pressure of a major performance mounts, she loses herself in a reality that seems increasingly unreal. She finds support in Lucas, the only person who seems to truly understand her.

"Self-reliance begins when you dare to admit that you can't always do it alone, and you don't always have to." With this film, filmmaker Denzel Balois aims to make the invisible problem of "emotional loneliness" visible and invite viewers to explore their own role in strengthening connection. The story is inspired by the many stories of the Bij Mij Thuis Foundation and is also being created in collaboration.

We're looking for a woman between 40 and 55 who can take on the role of dance instructor. This character in the film teaches a small group of dance students at a dance academy. A high-performing class serves as a mask for her insecurities. Mistakes are judged, and good execution is the norm. Personal and professional life are separated within the class, creating a serious and superficial atmosphere, leaving no room for emotion. She moves effortlessly and has a strong, clear voice. Dance experience isn't required for this role, but it's definitely a plus!
