Gabriel is a young queer man growing up in a small, conservative environment shaped by judgment and religion used as control. He lives with his mother, Lidia, a single parent who clings to faith as a way to impose order and make sense of her fractured life.

Lidia believes that if Gabriel were different — more “acceptable,” more aligned with her beliefs — everything would fall into place. Ironically, as a teacher, she shows warmth and compassion to others, especially Oliver, a quiet and confident football player who represents the son she wishes she had.

Meanwhile, Gabriel navigates his identity in secret, finding connection and freedom through anonymous conversations that allow him to exist without fear.

Everything collapses during a tense Sunday outside a church memorial, where years of silence erupt into confrontation. Witnessed by an elderly couple who once lost their own queer child to similar rejection, the moment becomes a mirror — one that forces Lidia to question whether her love has been protection… or harm.
