Jane, a paranoid woman, sees a strange man standing outside her apartment building as she’s returning home from a night-time jog. Jane gets worried about this man after mistaking his lighter for a knife. When Jane enters her apartment, she goes to take a shower, and gets shampoo in her eyes. The panic from not being able to see her surroundings causes her to imagine the strange man coming in and violently stabbing her. After getting the shampoo out of her eyes she is startled and gets out of the shower as quickly as possible, which causes her to slip on the wet ground and fall, hitting her head.
