about me
Maarten graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy in 2009 with the award-winning film Bingo, after a previous study in Film-TV and Theater Studies. He received his 'practical training' at Isabella Films at War Winter and then worked for several renowned production houses as executive producer on award-winning short and feature films, including Aanmodderfakker and Quality Time. In the meantime he started VENFILM, in which he produced many award-winning films, from the short film P to the documentary A Goat For A Vote and the mid-length De Dag Dat Mijn Huis Viel. In 2016 he produced his first feature film Waterboys, overloaded with **** reviews, which attracted 60,000 people to the cinemas in the Netherlands. At the end of 2019, Maarten started the Studio Ruba production house together with Layla Meijman. There they are now working on films/series by Joost van Hezik, Zara Dwinger, Aaron Rookus, Ben Brand, Amira Duijnhouwer and Robert Jan Westdijk, among others.
