MIKE HO-SAM-SOOI (Paramaribo, 1954)
Mike Ho-Sam-Sooi is a versatile actor, cameraman and director. He trained as a teacher and then studied at the drama school in Maastricht. Later, Mike studied television and film directing in Hilversum. He can regularly be heard as a voice-over for cartoons and computer games.
With his own company, HO-productions, Mike has initiated many theatre productions over the years as a director/theatre maker and has performed at various festivals outside the Netherlands with his own company.
The general public knows Mike from various TV series such as 'In good times and bad - Babysitting - Medical Center West - 'Goudkust'.
In addition, over the years Mike has played with major theatre companies in the Netherlands and Belgium, including the RO-theater - NNT - Blaauwe Maandag Company.
In recent years, in addition to these activities, Mike has focused on making television programs and short internet films. From his media company, "LUKUFILMS", Mike has realized various productions for broadcasters such as MTNL - AT5 - and Radio Netherlands Worldwide. For example, the documentary "Koopmannen van Amsterdam", a series of five episodes about the origins and the trade and conduct of the WIC. And the documentary "10-10-10, end or new beginning?" about the changes within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
In collaboration with journalist Tanja Fraai, Mike Ho makes films about doing business in Aruba and the Antillean islands. Mike operates the camera and is responsible for the direction and editing of these productions.
