In the past I practiced the profession of architectural illustrator at my parents' family business 'Studio Gosse de Vries'. Now I am a graphic designer and qualified webpage designer. On November 26, 2009, this graphic background, in combination with my passion for film and the preservation of old image and sound material, was the deciding factor in setting up the studio, which will work from the Stadskanaal location.

Video recordings or 8mm films are transferred to a DVD so that the images can be viewed in high quality. The digitization of the cine films takes place without any loss of quality. That means no flickering in the image and natural colors as originally recorded. Welds are checked and replaced where necessary. For this, use is made of, among other things, a splicer and a leader strip. During the transfer, the film strip is cleaned between two clean rollers. Audio, if present on the coil, is automatically digitized as well. Because we work 1 on 1 with the machine, there is full attention to the process and extra care is given to the film material.

I have already completed many different assignments in terms of digitizing and transferring analog media to DVD and CD. For example, I also digitized cine films for Eric Steegstra, the director of RIF and METRO.

Het overzetten gebeurt via de video en film bewerkingssoftware van MAGIX Video DeLuxe. Met deze videobewerking software kan evt. beeldruis of storing worden verwijderd zonder dat er belangrijke beelden verloren gaan. Tevens is er de mogelijkheid om het beeldmateriaal verder naar wens aan te passen op creatieve wijze. Dit betekent dat er teksten en muziek kunnen worden toegevoegd.
