about me
Maurice Jonkers (1973, Arnhem, the Netherlands) has a long-standing international business background, but his creative and free nature turned out to be greater than his corporate ambition. As an author, actor, artist and presenter he tries to cheer people up by looking at things in a different way. He sketches a universal image from personal stories. Inspiration comes from 'simple and daily' experiences. His work consists of publications of columns, verses and books, theatrical performances and film. Furthermore, he does not commit himself to a specific form, but combines them to his heart's content. His style is rhythmic, lyrical, clownish and interspersed with humor, emotion, music and 'grinta'

LIFECYCLE
Maurice was born in Arnhem-Zuid on the banks of the Rhine in the Duifje district. After high school and Chemical Technology training at TU Delft, he spent a long time in South Africa as a young engineer (1995-1996). This was followed by a business wandering with stays in Europe, America and Asia. During this period he quickly climbed the 'corporate' ladder at chemical giant AkzoNobel and fulfilled various management roles (1997 -2011). It formed the basis of his first book: Chemical Bonding, with which he developed a new genre: romanticized non-fiction. Business and personal themes are considered in a light-hearted manner. After his voluntary departure, a period of interim management and entrepreneurship in SMEs followed, including in the sustainable energy and marketing industry (2012-2015). After that, Maurice started to follow his heart and rediscovered his old love and eternal flame and started to focus more and more on his artistic work.
'...I started out in primary school as a cantor in the church choir and in the musical Pompelmoes. If I'm not mistaken, I was an apple. In high school my favorite subject was Dutch and not only because of a secret 'crush' on my teacher, which of course played a role in the background...'
In addition to his own work, he is available for public performances & film. He shares his international and business experiences with bachelor students as a teacher and as a creator of practical & creative solutions for starters.
