Ilja van Ravels is a Dutch actor who began acting in musical theatre productions at the age of twelve. Later, Ilja trained at De Toneelmeester and FAAAM (2018–2021) before graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Screen Acting from the Catalyst Institute for Creative Arts and Technology in Berlin.
During his studies, Ilja acted in many short films in both the Netherlands and Germany, and completed his first feature film shooting last December. Their graduation theatre piece "Down the Hole" received positive reviews and an award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2025.
Ilja views acting as a space for complete openness and trains this quality with Meisner Technique training with Sylvia Schwarz. Ilja speaks fluent Dutch and English and has a good level of German.

My monologue, which I wrote and performed as my graduation project, Down the Hole, was performed in Berlin and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2025, where it was well received and won an award.
"Testosterone," directed by Golden Leopard winner Sina Ateian Dena, is my first feature film role. It's expected to be released at major film festivals in 2026.
