Ilja van Ravels is a Dutch actor, living in Berlin, not too far from his hometown Amsterdam. Ilja speaks fluent Dutch, English and intermediate German. The passion for acting started at the age of twelve, with roles in music-theatre productions at school. Towards the end of high school, Ilja followed acting courses at De Toneelmeester in Amsterdam and a film acting course at the Film Actors Academy Amsterdam (Faaam), between 2018 and 2021.

In 2025 Ilja obtained a bachelor's degree in camera acting at Catalyst Berlin. During this three-year program Ilja acted in several short films in both the Netherlands and Germany and in three theater productions. In addition, she wrote and directed two original short films.

For Ilja, acting means complete openness: embracing all the contradictions in yourself and the character, in order to achieve authenticity. To further deepen this desire for authentic connection, Ilja is currently studying the Meisner technique with Sylvia Schwarz.
