From a young age, Gina was artistically inclined. She was very active and tried her hand at acrobatic arts. That is why she was placed in gymnastics by her parents in 1986. Where she trained fanatically every week. In the end Gina was in the selection group of Hercules in Drachten. Her parents were also approached by a scout during that period. But thought she was still too young for a gymnastics boarding school.
Gina had interests in various disciplines within the artistic sector. This became apparent when she found her love in dance in 1991. She was then part of the dance group Moetiara in Marum. With which they gave performances all over the country. Mainly at Moluccan events.
At the age of 15, Gina wanted to try other dance styles. She took her first Streetdance Jazz dance lessons with Touchee in Groningen and Utrecht. And so she finally found her great passion at Jake's Dance Factory in Amsterdam. The foundation was laid there on Hip-hop Streetdance. His lessons were tough and you had to have a lot of discipline and willpower. That was what Gina needed. This way she could express all her energy and passion. And felt more and more love for dance. It became an addiction. She trained very fanatically and could sometimes be found in the dance school every day.
Gina continued to keep her love for dance. Only after all these years she wanted to further expand her creativity. She then auditioned at the Actors School in Amsterdam and was admitted. She also followed several courses in (camera) acting, auditing and presenting. In the summer of 2013 she auditioned for Lucidare TV at Endemol in Amsterdam. Where she now receives lessons in acting for camera, film & TV from Willeke van Ammelrooy, Chris Tates and Peter Post, among others.
Gina is currently working on her own book and is studying Written Communication & Editing.
