I can describe myself as an enthusiastic, cheerful and loving person and I like to use a touch of humor in the things I do. I feel most comfortable when I can be of service and contribute to a good feeling with others. I always strive for the best result. Not so much in terms of numbers or money, but how positive the experiences of people are at the end of the ride.
Actually, I have known since my studies that I want to put a smile on people's faces by working in the events and/or media industry. However, I was quickly sidelined when my mother suddenly passed away. The blow of this meant that I could not find the energy to look for a suitable job at that time. The GGD Hollands Midden offered me an opportunity at that time that I seized with both hands, even though I knew that it was not my dream job.
Through the various activities at the GGD, I have learned how to maintain good (financial) administration and gained a lot of experience in planning complex duty rosters, facilitating spaces, agenda management and scheduling appointments via (telephone) customer contact.
This has shown that I can work well under stress, that I have good problem-solving skills and that I always speak to customers in a friendly manner.
In order to gain experience with the work I am passionate about, I have been organizing events under the name Meursy Media & Events since 2014 and I regularly work as a volunteer for the local broadcaster of Leiden. I have been able to organize and support various beautiful business and public events, collaborated on various TV programs and did production work for corporate films. The functions I have fulfilled include: production assistant, stage manager, event manager, entertainer and hostess. In this way, I have worked towards my dream for years and eventually quit my job to fully focus on finding work that is close to my heart.
