Rino Sokol (b. 1992) is an actor, performer, and theatre maker. He was born in Croatia, grew up in Amsterdam, and studied cabaret at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where he graduated in 2019. Since then, he has developed a multifaceted practice in which he writes, creates, and performs, both in solo performances and in co-creations with various artists and collectives. His work includes Vuurbond Heiligdom, APOPTOSIS, PROCESSION, Physical Proof, VOLUME, and Onder Anderen, as well as projects with the collective ilBrigata, such as Dag 2: Jonestown and Dag 3: Tankman. Additionally, he is active as an actor for film and television. As a teacher, Rino is affiliated with the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where he teaches performance practices within the Drama program. Rino's artistic work is characterized by a strong focus on embodied experience, intuitive creative processes, and an interest in psychology, play structures, and imagination. He approaches the creation process as a space for encounter and transformation, in which personal stories and physical presence take center stage.
