Dr. Constant Hoogenbosch (Nijmegen, 1967) studied Cultural and Mental History at Radboud University Nijmegen, with minors in Art History, Philosophy, Sociology, and Cultural Anthropology. With this background, Hoogenbosch moves daily within the world of film and media. After years of working in the film, television, and radio industries, Hoogenbosch founded his own media company, Movie Machine, in 2000. Through Movie Machine, he collaborates throughout the Netherlands (and internationally) with art house cinemas, cultural centers, companies, and educational institutions, where he teaches on a wide range of topics within the film and media world. Hoogenbosch also works as a lecturer in Film and Media Theory, Journalism, and Photography Theory at Rijn IJssel College in Arnhem, is affiliated with the University of Applied Sciences in Breda (Breda University), and is connected to the Netherlands Institute for Film Education (Eye) in Amsterdam. Hoogenbosch can be heard weekly as a resident film editor on Radio Gelderland, appears regularly in Radboud Reflects, and collaborates with various film festivals at home and abroad. In addition to educational work, Hoogenbosch works on various film projects and crossovers between film and other art disciplines, and is a regular guest programmer and advisor for art house cinemas. Hoogenbosch is also one of the founders of the international short film festival Go Short in Nijmegen.
