Maxime Karsten

Maxime Karsten graduated in 2022 from Fontys Academy of the Arts, specializing in Musical Theatre.
Prior to this, she attended multiple preparatory programs, starting at the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts in 2008. She then pursued the Musical Theatre preparatory at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, followed by 7MUS in Antwerp. During her training, Maxime played various roles, including ‘Marty’ in Grease and ‘Roxie Hart’ in Chicago.
In the summer of 2021, she performed in her first musical as ‘Maid Loes’ in Musicalspektakel 1830 by Historalia in Belgium. In 2022, she toured the Netherlands in the role of ‘Dorothy’ in The Wizard of Oz by Theater Terra. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, Maxime was cast as one of the Pink Ladies, ‘Jan’, in the musical Grease by Albert Verlinde Producties & SENF (2023).
The following season, Maxime appeared once again in a Theater Terra production, this time as ‘Tinkerbell’ in the musical Peter Pan in 2024. Later that same year, she performed in the ensemble/cover of Dragon in Shrek the musical by Van Hoorne Studios.
In the summer of 2025, Maxime will be part of the first Dutch cast of Hadestown, which will be performed at the Royal Theatre Carre. The following season, she will appear in the musical Hairspray, performing as ensemble (Shelly) and understudy for Prudy Pingleton and Tracy Turnblad.
In addition to her theatre work, Maxime also performs as a singer. She joined the ensemble for the second edition of the musical concert Ensemble Ensemble and regularly sings with RooxLive at events. Furthermore, she appears as an actress in various commercials for big brands like Radio 538, KFC, Lidl, Action etc.
